Call for Accountability in Unverified Statements
Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju addressed concerns about unverified statements made by members of parliament. He announced that the government had requested the Speaker to establish guidelines for addressing such instances.
We believe that if a member makes an unverified statement, they should be held accountable and take corrective action, Rijiju stated.
However, he also emphasized the need for proportionate consequences. If the Leader of Opposition is found to have knowingly misled the House, appropriate regulations must be enforced, he said.
