Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to address the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) parliamentary party meeting on Tuesday, July 2, 2024. This marks his first address to the MPs of the ruling bloc during the first session of Parliament since his inauguration for a third term.
The NDA meeting coincides with ongoing discussions in the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha on the Motion of Thanks to President Droupadi Murmu's address to a joint sitting of Parliament. Prime Minister Modi is expected to respond to the debates in both Houses.
Official sources have informed that all members of Parliament from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and its allies have been notified and requested to attend today's meeting. While the Prime Minister has addressed NDA MPs on previous occasions, including his election as their leader for all three terms, he typically addresses BJP MPs during parliamentary sessions.
This development gains significance as the BJP, for the first time since 2014, has lost the majority in the Lok Sabha in the recent polls and relies on its allies for the government's continuation.
