On Thursday, the Indian cricket team, under the leadership of Roht Sharma, paid a courtesy visit to Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his Lok Kalyan Marg residence in New Delhi for a celebratory breakfast. The meeting, which lasted approximately an hour, served as an opportunity for the Prime Minister to congratulate the team on their recent T20 World Cup victory.

The triumphant team arrived at the Prime Minister's residence at 11 am IST, following a warm reception at their hotel, ITC Maurya. Captain Rohit Sharma, head coach Rahul Dravid, and former captain Virat Kohli were among those present, who were treated to a special cake prepared by the hotel's chef.

During the breakfast meeting, Prime Minister Modi lauded the team's achievements, expressing confidence that their recent triumph will inspire them to excel in future tournaments. As the team members shared anecdotes from their World Cup campaign, the Prime Minister was seen smiling and actively engaged in the conversation. Jasprit Bumrah, Suryakumar Yadav, and Hardik Pandya also shared their experiences from the tournament.

India Celebrates T20 World Cup Champions

Upon their arrival at the New Delhi airport, the T20 World Cup champions were greeted by a jubilant crowd of fans who had gathered to witness their return. The team, along with the support staff and media, had faced a delay in returning to India due to Hurricane Beryl in Barbados.

The players were immediately recognized by their adoring fans, who cheered them and waved flags. Rohit Sharma emerged with the coveted T20 World Cup trophy, holding it aloft for the crowd to see. Virat Kohli acknowledged the fans' support with a wave, while Rahul Dravid basked in the adulation from the gathered crowd.

The celebrations continued as the team headed to their hotel in New Delhi. Rohit Sharma led the festivities by dancing to the beat of traditional dhol drums, while Suryakumar Yadav showcased his Bhangra skills. Hardik Pandya, known for his flamboyant style, added a touch of Caribbean flair to the parade by wearing a white hat.

The team's victory parade will culminate in a grand ceremony at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, where BCCI secretary Jay Shah will present the trophy and prize money of Rs 125 crore to the players. The event will mark the culmination of an unforgettable campaign that saw India end its 11-year wait for an ICC trophy.
