Kulgam Clashes: One Soldier, Four Terrorists Killed
On Saturday, in a tragic turn of events, the Kulgam district of Jammu and Kashmir became the site of two separate encounters between security forces and terrorists. The first gunfight erupted in Modergam village, where intelligence led security forces to a hideout occupied by two to three terrorists.
A fierce exchange of fire ensued, resulting in the death of one soldier. The security forces managed to neutralize four terrorists in this encounter.
In a separate operation, security forces launched a search operation in Frisal Chinnigam village based on intelligence about the presence of Lashkar group terrorists. The situation escalated when terrorists hiding in a house opened fire on the approaching security forces, initiating a gunfight that continues to rage.
These clashes come just a month after two senior commanders from the Lashkar-e-Taiba-affiliated Resistance Front were killed in a similar encounter in Pulwama district. The ongoing operations in Kulgam underscore the persistent threat posed by terrorism in the region and the unwavering efforts of security forces to combat it.
