'For Daisy Shah, an accomplished actress and dancer, the art of dance holds a profound significance, transcending mere physical movement to become an expression of the soul. 'Dancing is a language that allows me to articulate emotions that words often fail to capture,' she says, her words resonating with the passion that fuels her artistry. 'It's a way to connect with my innermost feelings and convey them to others.'

Shah's journey into the world of dance began during her formative years in Mumbai, where she discovered her talent and passion while actively participating in extracurricular activities, particularly those involving dance. 'I excelled in academics, but my heart yearned for the expressive freedom that dance offered,' she recalls. 'Every opportunity to perform, whether during annual day celebrations or school functions, found me eagerly taking center stage.'

It was through her association with renowned choreographer Ganesh Acharya that Shah's dancing career took a serendipitous turn. In 2000, she found herself on the sets of a Bollywood movie as an extra dancer, a fortuitous circumstance that would shape her future path. 'Ganesh masterji's song was being filmed, and due to unexpected rainfall, several dancers were unable to attend,' she recounts. 'Our coordinator, knowing my dance training, sought my assistance, and I gladly stepped in. Masterji noticed my performance and subsequently invited me to join his troupe.'

Shah's journey within the industry began as an assistant choreographer, a role that provided invaluable experience and laid the foundation for her subsequent success as a model, dancer, and actress. Her debut film, Jai Ho (2012), alongside Salman Khan, marked a pivotal moment in her career, propelling her into the spotlight.

Reflecting on her formative years in the industry, Shah fondly remembers the camaraderie and enthusiasm that characterized those early days. 'We shared an unbridled joy and camaraderie,' she says, a hint of nostalgia in her voice. 'We may have become more polished and sophisticated over time, but the spirit of those days remains an unforgettable part of my journey.'

Under the tutelage of Ganesh Acharya, Shah honed her skills in Bollywood dance, mastering the vibrant and energetic style that has become synonymous with Indian cinema. 'Masterji is renowned for his mass choreography, and his approach emphasizes versatility,' she explains. 'This has enabled me to adapt to various dance forms, making Bollywood masala my forte. I can confidently claim that I am proficient in every form.'

While Shah acknowledges the appeal of individual songs, it's the music of the 1990s that holds a special place in her heart. 'The songs from that era possess a timeless quality that instantly transports me to a realm of joy and nostalgia,' she says. 'Dancing to those melodies is an experience unlike any other.'

Shah's passion for dance extends beyond her personal fulfillment; she recognizes its transformative power and the positive impact it can have on others. 'Dance has the ability to heal and uplift,' she believes. 'When I see people enjoying themselves on the dance floor, it fills me with immense happiness.'

Looking ahead, Shah is excited about the future of dance in India and believes that it will continue to evolve and captivate audiences. 'Dance is an integral part of our culture, and it's wonderful to see the growing appreciation for it both in India and globally,' she says. 'I'm eager to witness the new heights that dance will reach in the years to come.''
