Actor Abhilash Thapliyal's Triumphant Journey: From 'Maidaan' to a Mumbai Abode

Actor Abhilash Thapliyal's career has soared to new heights with his critically acclaimed performance as a perceptive sports commentator in the gripping film 'Maidaan'. This triumph has been further sweetened by the purchase of a luxurious 3BHK sea-facing apartment in Andheri, Mumbai.

Thapliyal, renowned for his captivating portrayals in 'Kennedy' (2023) and 'Blurr' (2022), has found his true haven in Mumbai after residing there for several years. The 36-year-old actor expressed his profound joy at making Mumbai his permanent home, It (Mumbai) has been my karmabhoomi for quite a few years. Buying a place in the city gives me an anchor to stay here for a longer period of time. Now, this has become my home.

A key factor in Thapliyal's decision to buy a house was the presence of a balcony, a feature he deeply cherished from his upbringing in Delhi. I come from Delhi where balconies are not uncommon. But this is not the same in Mumbai. So, our only benchmark for buying a house was a balcony.

Despite securing a loan for the purchase, Thapliyal remained grounded, recognizing that material possessions are not the sole measure of success. People are reacting to the news [of buying a house] as if I have climbed the final ladder of success. But I don't think that buying a good car, house, or phone reflects the success of an artist. However, good projects do reflect success, and that is what I will strive to do, he affirmed.

Thapliyal found an ideal partner in his wife, Anubhooti Panda, a corporate professional, who played an integral role in transforming their new abode into a vibrant reflection of their personalities. The couple meticulously curated the décor, incorporating an eclectic collection of caricatures, beloved artworks, and a unique coffee table ingeniously crafted from an old scooter that had belonged to Thapliyal's late father.

After purchasing the property, Thapliyal, along with his wife Anubhooti Panda (corporate professional), decided to turn the complex into 'an extension of themselves'.

Their home has become a sanctuary where creativity and memories intertwine, bearing witness to Thapliyal's journey from a talented actor to a proud homeowner. As he embarks on new endeavors, his Mumbai abode will serve as a constant source of inspiration, reminding him of his hard-earned triumph.
