In the heart of Ambala, Rini Singh, a beacon of strength and resilience, embarked on a journey of sacrifice and unwavering love. With a master's degree in economics and a B.Ed certification, she pursued her passion for teaching, leaving an indelible mark on her students' lives. However, destiny had a different path in store for her.

As her husband, an esteemed army officer, was assigned to the ministry in Delhi, Rini's life took a significant turn. She resolved to dedicate herself to her children, Rakul Preet Singh and Aman Preet Singh, while they ventured into the world of golf.

Each day, Rini would meticulously accompany her children to their training sessions, spending countless hours nurturing their dreams. The absence of her husband, deployed in remote border areas, was a constant challenge, but it only served to strengthen her resolve.

Being an army officer's wife is the toughest job, Rakul asserts, her voice filled with admiration for her mother's fortitude. We didn't have phones at the time, but my mom fearlessly raised me and my brother. We never felt that our father wasn't around, or our mother was scared. She never let that fear of the unknown reflect on us.

Rini's resilience stemmed from her unwavering belief in the power of positivity. I never gave myself time to think about the negative, she recalls. I kept myself busy and used that time to make my kids learn everything out there.

Their early years were marked by adventures in the North-East, where Rini's resourcefulness shone through. We would often travel in convoys to meet our father, Rakul remembers. Many people wouldn't do that because of the risk involved, but my mom was fearless.

Rini attributes her courage to a touch of blissful ignorance. Sometimes ignorance is bliss, she confides.

Rakul's journey to stardom was sparked by her mother's keen eye for talent. It was Rini who encouraged her daughter to embrace her dreams and pursue the Miss India pageant.

My mom was the one to identify my talent and say I should act and go for Miss India, Rakul says. While my father also never had any reservations, my mom was the one to tell him 'It's her dream and if she wants to do it, we should let her'.

Rini's belief in her daughter's abilities extended beyond the pageant stage. She was so confident during Miss India, Rini recalls. I didn't think she would be comfortable in a bikini, but she did it really well. Her thinking also was so mature and she was just 18. I am a proud mother to have given birth to such a strong woman. So many people tell us 'Bachcha ho to Rakul jaisa'.

Today, Rakul stands as a testament to her mother's unwavering support and belief. Her career, marked by success and accolades, is a reflection of the strength and determination instilled in her by Rini.

My mom was the one to identify my talent and say I should act and go for Miss India, Rakul says. I used to diligently watch Miss India every year, and one day she told me I should apply too. I was a bit tomboyish at the time and I said I wouldn't be able to do it, but she was confident in me. She went with me for my bikini shopping and everything. While dad also never had any reservations, mom was the one to tell him 'It's her dream and if she wants to do it, we should let her'.

In the tapestry of their lives, Rini Singh and Rakul Preet Singh embody the enduring power of the mother-daughter bond. Their journey, marked by sacrifice, resilience, and unwavering love, serves as an inspiration to all who dare to dream and embrace life's challenges.
