Karisma Kapoor's Cherished Bond with First Baby Kareena
Bollywood siblings Karisma Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor share an unbreakable connection, often showcasing their affection for each other. At a recent event in Kolkata, Karisma revealed her protective nature towards her younger sister, whom she also admires as a role model.

Karisma confessed to being fiercely protective of Kareena, despite her strong and independent nature. As a child, she always knew her own mind, Karisma shared. However, to her, Kareena will forever remain my first baby.
Inspirational Idol
Beyond their sibling bond, Karisma also holds Kareena in high esteem as an idol. She explained, Besides my grandfather Raj Kapoor, Bebo is my idol. Her strength is unwavering. She has worked throughout both her pregnancies.

Having debuted in 1991, Karisma has witnessed the transformative journey of Indian cinema. Reflecting on the industry's growth, she commented, When I started out, we had to walk miles to use the washroom. I've seen it evolve tremendously.
Sabbatical and Return
After marrying Sanjay Kapur in 2003, Karisma took a break from acting to focus on her family. She welcomed two children, Samiera and Kiaan Raj, before separating from Kapur in 2016.
I chose to take a break, Karisma explained. I wanted to cherish those precious moments with my children. It doesn't mean life ends after childbirth.
Women's Representation in Cinema
Karisma observed that while women's portrayal in films has improved over time, it was never as dire as portrayed. She said, Even in earlier times, there were films like 'Mother India,' which centered on women.
OTT Revolution
Commenting on the rise of OTT platforms, Karisma expressed her appreciation for the opportunities it offered actors. OTT allows actors to explore roles they might not have gotten otherwise, she stated.
Early Inspiration
Karisma recounted how her passion for acting ignited when she witnessed her grandfather, Raj Kapoor, explaining a scene on the set of Prem Rog. That's when I knew I wanted to act, just like my family, she said.
Upcoming Projects
Karisma is set to appear in an upcoming OTT project titled Brown, set against the backdrop of Kolkata. Each film holds a special place in my heart, as it marks a unique journey, she concluded.
