Aavesham's box office triumph continues, with its fifth weekend in India adding an impressive Rs. 1.10 crore to its tally, bringing its total gross to Rs. 100.60 crore. This milestone makes it only the third Malayalam film ever to surpass the coveted Rs. 100 crore mark in India, joining the ranks of 2018 and Manjummel Boys.

Internationally, the film has garnered a remarkable USD 6.50 million (Rs. 54 crore), resulting in a worldwide gross of approximately Rs. 155 crore.

As the film approaches the end of its theatrical run, the fifth week witnessed a significant 85% decline from the previous week. Despite this, Aavesham is projected to close with a grand total of over/under Rs. 102 crore. With the inclusion of dubbed versions, the film could have potentially reached even greater heights, such as Rs. 110 crore or even Rs. 120 crore, if not for its early digital release, which hindered its extended run in Kerala.

In Kerala, cinemas have a strict policy prohibiting films from being screened once they are released on OTT platforms. While this may seem rigid, it is a commendable move that supports the longevity of cinema. The customary four-week window for digital releases, particularly in Kerala where films typically enjoy extended runs, seems illogical. The argument for a shorter window often revolves around the lucrative offers from OTT platforms, as seen in the case of Aavesham. However, this approach is shortsighted.

In the long run, reducing the theatrical window will undermine the crucial revenue stream, which could prove detrimental when the inflated digital rights inevitably decline.

A detailed breakdown of Aavesham's box office collections in India:

Week One - Rs. 36 crore (8 days)nWeek Two - Rs. 30 crorenWeek Three - Rs. 22.50 crorenWeek Four - Rs. 11 crore

5th Friday - Rs. 30 lakhn5th Saturday - Rs. 40 lakhn5th Sunday - Rs. 40 lakh

Total - Rs. 100.60 crore

In Kerala, Aavesham's gross stands at approximately Rs. 75.25 crore, placing it as the fourth highest grosser behind 2018, Pulimurugan, and Aadujeevitham, and ahead of Baahubali 2 and Manjummel Boys. Notably, without the early digital release, the film was well on its way to surpassing Rs. 85 crore in the state, which would have made it the second-highest grosser ever.

Elsewhere in both Karnataka and Tamil Nadu, Aavesham holds the distinction of being the second highest-grossing Malayalam film ever, with Rs. 11.50 crore and Rs. 10.75 crore respectively.

The territorial breakdown for the box office collections of Aavesham is as follows:
