Despite its renowned character, The Garfield Movie struggled at the Indian box office initially, falling short of Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes' collections on its second Friday, which had netted a mere Rs 1 crore on its eighth day.

Despite an underwhelming start, analysts anticipate a surge in earnings over the weekend, potentially reaching Rs 4 crores or more. However, the film's sustainability in subsequent weeks remains a concern.

In comparison to its companion release, IF, The Garfield Movie emerged as the more popular choice among Indian audiences.

Currently, the movie has grossed approximately $50 million globally. With its upcoming release in major markets like the USA and Canada, it is expected to gain significant traction.

The film follows Garfield, a food-loving cat, who finds himself caught in an adventure with Odie, Jon's dog. Together, they confront obstacles, forge alliances, and ultimately reclaim their freedom.

The Garfield Movie is currently playing in selected theaters worldwide. By May 24, 2024, it is expected to have debuted in nearly all major markets.
