In a candid interview with Pinkvilla, the Panchayat team delved into the intricacies of the TV series, including Jitendra Kumar's portrayal of his character in comparison to Shah Rukh Khan's in the 2004 film Swades.
Upon introducing the character, Kumar noted that during the initial stages of writing the script, they recognized similarities with Khan's role in Swades. He, too, reluctantly travels to his village, intending only to stay for a short period, Kumar explained about his character.
However, the team embraced those similarities and integrated them into the show. We incorporated certain elements, such as his friend's comments in Season 1, but we never intended for it to become an overt comparison, Kumar stated.
He clarified, We utilized it strategically without allowing it to overshadow the originality of our character.
Kumar emphasized his admiration for both Panchayat and Swades, stating, I enjoy both works. We were creating something along similar lines as 'Swades,' so I was eager to be a part of it.
Following the success of the first two seasons, the makers of Panchayat are preparing to release the much-anticipated third season later this month.
