Kartam Bhugtam's Presidential Screening: A Milestone for Shreyas Talpade

Shreyas Talpade's latest cinematic offering, Kartam Bhugtam, recently achieved a notable distinction: a screening at the esteemed Rashtrapati Bhavan. This honor, bestowed on only a select few films, holds immense significance for Talpade, whose career has spanned over two decades.

Reflecting upon this special event, Talpade expresses his heartfelt gratitude and humility. He recalls his earlier experience of having his debut film, Iqbal, screened for the then Deputy Prime Minister, L.K. Advani. However, this recent honor marks a profound milestone in his professional journey.

For a film to reach this level is an achievement in itself, Talpade asserts. I am deeply honored.

Box Office Success versus Awards

In the film industry, recognition can come in various forms, from box office triumph to prestigious awards. While Talpade acknowledges the allure of awards, he places paramount importance on audience reception.

For me, box office is the biggest award and reward, Talpade explains. It signifies the audience's reaction. If they like it, collections are granted.

That said, he recognizes the significance of certain awards, particularly the National Film Awards, which he aspires to receive.

I am also dreaming for the longest time to win it, Talpade confides. I don't know when that time will come, but I eagerly anticipate holding that trophy in my hands, presented by our President.

Peer Recognition and Artistic Growth

Talpade's focus extends beyond external accolades to the respect and appreciation he receives from his peers within the film fraternity.

If you are getting good work and your peers are appreciating it, it doesn't matter if they appreciated your work earlier or not, Talpade asserts. It's a happy moment if they are noticing it now. Certain flowers bloom a little late; you wait for the tree to bear fruit in due time.

Talpade's unwavering belief in his craft and his patient approach to recognition reflect a deep understanding of the artistic journey and the value of perseverance.
