Mr. and Mrs. Mahi Holds Steady on Monday with Earnings of Rs. 1.90 Crores
Directed by Sharan Sharma and starring Rajkummar Rao and Janhvi Kapoor, Mr. and Mrs. Mahi maintained its presence at the Indian box office on its first Monday. With earnings of Rs. 1.90 crores on Monday, the film's total domestic collections stand at Rs. 18.65 crores after four days.
Impressive Trajectory and Monday Hold
Despite an apparent 70-75 percent drop from its opening day, the film's actual drop is estimated at around 45 percent. Considering the subsidized ticket prices during its Cinema Lovers Day release, the opening day earnings were likely higher than the actual Rs. 3.25-3.50 crores. The Monday numbers indicate that the film has gained acceptance among audiences.
Importance of Subsized Ticket Prices
Mr. and Mrs. Mahi was initially considered for a direct digital release, so its box office performance is considered a bonus. However, the strong earnings during its subsidized ticket day serve as a reminder of the importance of affordable ticket prices. Audiences are more willing to visit theaters, even for mixed-review films, when prices are within reach.
Mixed Performance with Potential
The day-wise domestic collections of Mr. and Mrs. Mahi are as follows:
- Day 1: Rs. 6.75 croresn- Day 2: Rs. 4.50 croresn- Day 3: Rs. 5.50 croresn- Day 4: Rs. 1.90 croresn- Total: Rs. 18.65 crores nett in India in 4 days
