Munjya Continues Strong Performance at Box Office
Munjya, directed by Aditya Sarpotdar and featuring Abhay Verma, Sharvari Wagh, and Mona Singh, had a remarkable second Monday at the box office, grossing an additional Rs 5 crores. The film's collections on its 11th day were bolstered by the Eid holiday. As of the second Monday, Munjya has earned approximately Rs 58.75 crores, and by the end of its second week, it will likely approach Rs 70 crores.
Strong Hold on Audiences
Munjya has maintained its strong presence despite competition from newly released films. The horror-comedy is expected to remain the most popular movie at the Indian box office from Tuesday, particularly in mass circuits where it has shown exceptional staying power. With no major releases scheduled for the coming Friday, Munjya will continue to dominate the box office. The film is projected to achieve its target of Rs 100 crore in net collections.
Success without a Box Office Star
The film's success is particularly notable as it lacks a major box office force. Munjya has generated its impressive collections solely through its compelling concept, positive word-of-mouth, and its inclusion in Maddock Films' Supernatural Universe, which includes films such as Stree, Roohi, and Bhediya.
Connection to Stree 2
Munjya is likely to be interconnected with the upcoming sequel to Stree, which is one of the most anticipated Hindi releases of 2024.
