Riding high on the success of his digital debut in The Night Manager, Bollywood heartthrob Aditya Roy Kapur embarks on an exciting new web series under the helm of acclaimed directors Raj & DK. Buzz has it that Kapur will share the screen with the enigmatic Samantha Prabhu in the upcoming project titled Rakhtabeej.
Negotiations between Kapur and the directorial duo have been ongoing for some time and have now culminated in a finalized agreement. According to a source cited by Mid-Day, Kapur's nod of approval came in May after extensive discussions spanning six months. Following Kapur's confirmation, the makers swiftly secured Prabhu's participation in the project. Both stars have commenced individual rehearsals for the action-packed series and will soon unite for collaborative preparations.
Kapur and Prabhu's pairing marks their first collaboration, while Prabhu's bond with Raj & DK extends to a third joint venture. Their prior collaborations include the popular The Family Man and the upcoming Citadel: Honey Bunny. This will be Kapur's maiden project with the renowned directors.
The commencement of filming for Rakhtabeej is tentatively scheduled for August once Raj & DK complete their commitments to the third season of The Family Man.
Kapur's recent cinematic endeavors include Gumraah, which graced screens in 2023. He eagerly anticipates the release of his upcoming film Metro... In Dino, helmed by Anurag Basu. This sequel to the 2007 film Life in a... Metro features an ensemble cast that includes Sara Ali Khan, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Ali Fazal, Neena Gupta, Pankaj Tripathi, Anupam Kher, and Konkona Sen Sharma. Filming for the project concluded in late May, with a theatrical release slated for November 2024.
Prabhu's upcoming projects include Citadel: Honey Bunny, where she will share the screen with Varun Dhawan for the first time. Her highly anticipated return to the The Family Man universe is also eagerly awaited with the upcoming third season.
