Tori Spelling, the celebrated actress from the iconic series Beverly Hills 90210, recently divulged intriguing details about the contents of her freezer during an episode of her podcast, misSPELLING. Among the unexpected items she revealed, she mentioned the storage of two of her placentas, the organs that provide nourishment to a developing fetus during pregnancy.
Spelling confessed to having misplaced the connection between these placentas and the specific children they belonged to, casting a bit of mystery over their origins. Beyond the two placentas in her freezer, she disclosed that an additional placenta was entrusted to the care of a close friend.
I'll share something that people would least expect to find in my freezer, and that would be my placenta, Spelling stated, acknowledging the unconventional nature of this practice. She further elaborated that the preservation of the placenta is rooted in traditional beliefs that ascribe various benefits to its consumption, burial, or transformation into powdered supplements. However, she admitted to being somewhat indolent in pursuing these options.
Regarding the placenta of her youngest son, Beau, Spelling recounted the heartwarming intervention of her best friend, Jess, who took it home on her behalf. She described the circumstances surrounding Beau's birth as challenging, requiring a C-section and an extended hospital stay. Amid the medical complexities and exhaustion, she lacked the presence of mind to deal with the placenta.
I asked Jess if she could take the placenta home because they had given it to me, and I didn't know what to do with it, Spelling recalled, expressing deep appreciation for her friend's unwavering support. Despite Jess's repeated requests over the past seven years to retrieve the placenta, Spelling has yet to do so.
Spelling and her estranged husband, Dean McDermott, had been married for over a decade before announcing their separation. The divorce filing cited irreconcilable differences, but the two maintain an amicable relationship. This amicable post-separation dynamic is a testament to their resilience and commitment to maintaining a positive co-parenting environment for their children.
