Renowned Indian filmmaker S. Shankar, celebrated for iconic cinematic creations such as Indian, Sivaji, and Robot, has graced the headlines with an exclusive interview with Pinkvilla. In the interview, he addresses the much-anticipated prospect of sequels to his beloved films, providing insights into his creative process and future aspirations.

When asked about the possibility of Sivaji 2, Nayak 2, and Aparichit 2, Shankar expressed that while the public's desire for these sequels is understandable, he remains cautious about pursuing them solely for the sake of creating sequels. For him, creating a sequel hinges on a compelling narrative that organically evolves within his mind, rather than a mere attempt to capitalize on past successes.

Shankar emphasizes the importance of finding a subject that deeply resonates with him, allowing it to gradually take shape and solidify into a fully realized storyline. Only when this happens will he embark on a sequel project. Until that point, he has no concrete plans for any of these sequels.

In terms of his upcoming projects, Shankar is fully immersed in promoting Hindustani 2, the highly anticipated sequel to his 1996 classic Indian. Upon its release, he will focus on completing Hindustani 3 and Game Changer, both of which are expected to require approximately 15 days of additional filming.

Following the completion of filming, Shankar will embark on the post-production process for both films, paving the way for their eventual release. He has hinted at the possibility of Hindustani 3 being released within six months of Hindustani 2, while Game Changer may target a summer 2025 release, depending on the project's progression.

Beyond these current endeavors, Shankar's creative aspirations extend to exploring disaster-themed films similar to 2012 and even a project akin to James Bond, albeit with a unique twist.

Hindustani 2, the highly anticipated sequel, is slated to hit theaters on July 12th, promising an epic cinematic experience for audiences. The film marks the return of the iconic Indian franchise, which has captivated audiences for decades. Pre-bookings for the movie will commence next week, generating immense anticipation among fans eager to witness the return of this beloved story.
