"Prime Minister Modi Denounces Karnataka's Inclusion of Muslims in OBC List

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has strongly criticized the Congress-led Karnataka government's decision to grant reservation benefits to Muslims under the Other Backward Classes (OBC) category, claiming that it is part of a larger agenda to replicate this policy across the country.

Addressing an election rally in Madhya Pradesh's Sagar district, Modi accused the Congress of "giving reservation on the basis of religion in Karnataka through the backdoor" by including all Muslim castes in the OBC list. He asserted that this move has "snatched a big chunk of reservation from the OBC community" and is a "dangerous game" that will harm future generations.

Modi emphasized that the Indian Constitution explicitly prohibits reservation based on religion. He highlighted that Babasaheb Ambedkar, the architect of the Constitution, strongly opposed such a practice. However, he claimed that the Congress had long ago adopted a "dangerous resolution" to implement religion-based reservations and has been attempting to deceive people to achieve this goal.

The Prime Minister labeled the Congress as the "biggest enemy of the OBCs" and stated that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) must secure over 400 seats in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections to protect the quotas granted to OBCs, Scheduled Castes (SCs), and Scheduled Tribes (STs).

Modi's remarks follow the National Commission for Backward Classes (NCBC) criticizing the Karnataka government's decision, deeming it a violation of the "principle of social justice." He also alleged that the Congress had promised religion-based reservations in its manifestos for the 2009 and 2014 elections.

"Congress is preparing to cut the 15 per cent quota of SC, ST, and OBC and implement reservations based on religion," Modi claimed.

He accused the Congress of attempting to weaken the country, citing its refusal to attend the Pran Pratishtha ceremony of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. Modi stated that the party "hates the country's Constitution" and "the identity of India" and engages in actions that undermine the nation's strength.

Attack on Inheritance Tax

Modi also launched an attack on the Congress over remarks made by Sam Pitroda, who advocated for an inheritance tax. The Prime Minister alleged that the party intends to seize the assets and rights of citizens and their children.

"Congress has now made another revelation. Their hidden agenda has emerged. Congress says that it will impose an Inheritance Tax... Congress says it will also impose a tax on the Inheritance received from parents," Modi claimed.

He condemned the proposal, asserting that it demonstrates the Congress's lack of understanding of Indian family values. Modi labeled the party's mantra as "'Congress ki loot, zindage ke sath bhi loot aur zindagi ke baad bhi loot' (Congress's loot, during your life, and even after your death).""
