'In a tragic incident, two Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel lost their lives and two others sustained injuries during an attack by armed militants in the Naransena area of Manipur's Bishnupur district on Saturday.
The assault, which occurred between midnight and 2:15 AM, targeted an outpost of the security forces, resulting in a bomb explosion. The perpetrators reportedly fired indiscriminately from elevated positions and hurled bombs, one of which detonated within the outpost.
The deceased have been identified as CRPF Sub-Inspector N. Sarkar and Head Constable Arup Saini, while the injured personnel include Inspector Jadav Das and Constable Aftab Hussain. Both Das and Hussain suffered splinter wounds during the attack.
The CRPF personnel were deployed to provide security to the India Reserve Battalion (IRBn) camp. Following the incident, a comprehensive search operation was initiated to apprehend the attackers.
