'Delhi Congress head Arvinder Singh Lovely has tendered his resignation, citing persistent interference by party general secretary in-charge Deepak Babaria.

In his resignation letter to Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, Lovely expressed his inability to continue as Delhi Congress president due to feeling 'handicapped.' He highlighted instances where Delhi Congress leaders voiced opposition to Babaria's management. However, he faced pressure to expel those who criticized Babaria.

Lovely also addressed the Congress-Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) alliance in Delhi, which he said the entire state unit opposed. He emphasized that the alliance was formed with a party that had accused Congress of corruption, and many of whose cabinet ministers were facing corruption charges.

Despite the opposition, he respected the party's decision and ensured the Delhi Congress unit followed the high command's directive. He even visited Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's residence after his arrest.

Lovely expressed frustration with Babaria's interference, stating that he was unable to function effectively. He highlighted that Babaria's unilateral actions damaged the party's credibility and morale.

In his resignation letter, Lovely emphasized the need for strong leadership and unity within the Delhi Congress. He expressed his commitment to the party and its principles but stated that the current leadership hindered progress.

Lovely's resignation highlights the growing internal divisions within the Delhi Congress. It remains to be seen how the party will address these issues and move forward.'
