Assault Allegations Rock Delhi Politics

In a shocking turn of events, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP Swati Maliwal has filed a police complaint against Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's close aide, Bibhav Kumar, accusing him of physical assault. The MP's complaint alleges that she was subjected to a brutal assault on Monday at the Chief Minister's residence.

As per the complaint, Kumar slapped, kicked, and struck Maliwal with a stick, causing injuries to sensitive body parts. The MP also claimed that Kumar punched her in the stomach. Despite her pleas for him to stop, Kumar continued his assault.

Shockingly, Maliwal alleges that she had previously reported the incident to AAP officials, who confirmed the charges. However, no formal complaint was filed until today. Following Maliwal's complaint, the Delhi Police have registered an FIR against Kumar under charges of outraging modesty, criminal intimidation, and voluntarily causing hurt.

A police team visited Maliwal's residence to record her statement. The probe team spent several hours gathering details from the Rajya Sabha MP. In a statement, Maliwal expressed her hope that appropriate action would be taken in the matter.

The allegations have sent shockwaves through Delhi's political circles. Many have expressed outrage and condemnation at the alleged assault. The incident raises serious questions about the safety and security of women in positions of power.

Maliwal's courage in speaking out against this alleged abuse of power is commendable. Her actions serve as a reminder that violence against women must not be tolerated, regardless of the perpetrator's position or affiliation. It is now up to the Delhi Police to conduct a thorough investigation and ensure that justice is served.
