Swati Maliwal Denounces Edited Video Amid Alleged Assault Investigation
Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) Chairperson Swati Maliwal has responded to a purported video circulating online, alleging it to be devoid of context and intended to shield a political hitman from culpability. While she refrained from naming individuals, Maliwal's tweet conveyed her belief that the video was disseminated to deflect blame from the actual perpetrator.
Like clockwork, efforts to save face have begun. By circulating videos without proper context, they hope to deflect attention from their crimes. Who records someone being assaulted? The truth will be revealed when CCTV footage from the residence and room is examined. No matter the depths of depravity, the divine gaze is upon us. The truth will prevail, Maliwal's tweet stated.
Video Depicts Heated Exchange at Kejriwal's Residence
The video in question captures an altercation between Maliwal and security personnel at Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's residence. Amidst demands for her departure, Maliwal vehemently resisted, insisting on speaking with the police. In a moment of heightened tension, she uttered a derogatory term towards one of the security staff.
The authenticity of the video remains unverified.
Maliwal Refuses to Depart, Summons Police
I will not leave. I shall expose this, Maliwal declared to the security personnel. She maintained her stance, demanding the presence of senior police officers and declaring her refusal to leave until then.
Very well, but you must depart for now, one security guard responded.
No, the matter will be settled here and now. I defy you to touch me, or you will be out of a job, Maliwal asserted.
We implore you, the security staff pleaded.
I have summoned the police. Let them arrive, and I will engage with them, Maliwal replied.
They will not be permitted to enter the premises, the staff informed her.
Unmoved, Maliwal insisted that the police would indeed enter the residence.
Maliwal's Accusations Paint Disturbing Picture
The FIR registered in connection with the incident reveals harrowing details. Maliwal alleges that Bibhav Kumar, Kejriwal's aide and personal assistant, subjected her to repeated blows to the face and kicks to the abdomen and pelvis. Upon breaking free, she contacted the police.
Kumar, according to Maliwal's account, threatened to eliminate her. He subsequently returned with security personnel, who ordered her to leave the premises.
