Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav arrived in Delhi today for crucial meetings as the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) and the Opposition INDIA bloc finalize their plans following the formation of the new government in the wake of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
Kumar and Yadav boarded the Patna-Delhi Vistara flight, scheduled to land in the capital at 10.40 am. The results declared by the Election Commission earlier this week revealed the BJP's victory with 240 seats, short of the 272 majority mark, while the Congress secured 99 seats.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is poised to form a government for a third consecutive term despite his NDA alliance falling below expectations in the face of a strong showing by the INDIA bloc. The NDA has seen a decline from its 303 and 282 seats won in 2019 and 2014, respectively.
