On Wednesday, the Rouse Avenue Court in Delhi granted Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's three-day CBI custody in connection with the liquor policy case. Kejriwal's custody request was accompanied by an appeal for certain concessions, which the court approved.
During his custody, Kejriwal will be permitted to wear his eyeglasses, take prescribed medications, consume home-cooked meals, carry a copy of the Bhagavad Gita, and confer with his family for an hour each day.
Kejriwal raised an additional request. He explained to Special Judge Amitabh Rawat that upon his prior incarceration in an Enforcement Directorate case, he omitted his belt from the essential items list. Kejriwal clarified that without his belt, he was forced to support his pants while en route to Tihar Jail, an experience he deemed embarrassing.
The court acknowledged Kejriwal's requests. On June 29th, Kejriwal is scheduled to reappear in court by 7 pm. Notably, Kejriwal is currently held in Tihar Jail due to a money laundering investigation and was formally apprehended by the CBI on Wednesday.
